Edutech Startup The Unacademy has Acquired Chandigarh Based Company PrepLadder

The Facebook backed edutech startup the Unacademy has acquired the Chandigarh-based edutech startup PrepLadder for $50 million. The PrepLadder was founded by Deepanshu Goyal and Vitul Goyal in 2015. PrepLadder basically focuses on preparation for medical entrance exams through its web portal.

Unacademy, founded by Roman Saini is an educator, motivational speaker, and former IAS officer, allows educators to create videos for courses on various courses for schools, colleges, and many entrance exams. It is currently India’s second-highest valued ed-tech startup at over $500 million, after Byju’s(The Learning App). PrepLadder’s whole 250 staff will join Unacademy along with the founder Mr. Goyal. Currently, PrepLadder has around 80K subscribed members on its platform.

This is the fourth acquisition of Unacademy within two years. It has bought Wifistudy(government exam preparation), CodeChef(programming site), and KreatryX(Gate Coaching site).
